Perform with a classical ballet company
The Shenandoah Academy of Dance is the official training school and home of the Shenandoah Ballet. Missy founded the Shenandoah Ballet in December of 2012. The company's first production was Floyd's Alice in Wonderland in April 2013 and followed it up with the its annual production of The Nutcracker in December 2013. The repertoire of the Shenandoah Ballet continues to grow with Floyd's original productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Wizard of Oz, Hansel and Gretel and, in the spring of 2017, the Shenandoah Ballet produced an original version of The Little Mermaid. Since then, the company has gone on to produce original productions of Beauty and the Beast, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Snow White and the Poisoned Apple, Little Red Riding Hood, Thumbelina and has revisited The Wizard of Oz and Cinderella.
While The Nutcracker continues to be a solid holiday tradition, the Shenandoah Ballet prides itself on the art of the story ballet. Stay tuned to see a new look at The Little Mermaid.
